You have been waiting for this moment since lockdown started! You have already received the COVID vaccine and are ready to start exploring the world. But before you start your next adventure in Peru, be sure to consided these factors:

Before your trip

Do I need to be vaccinated?

Although it is strongly advised to receive the COVID vaccine before traveling to Peru, it is not mandatory to be vaccinated. According to the U.S. Embassy in Peru, you will need one of the following documents for your trip:

  • Not vaccinated yet? You must present a molecular (within 72 hours) or antigen test (within 24 hours) with a negative result prior to boarding an incoming flight to Peru.

Additionaly, for your flight back to the U.S., you must provide a negative COVID-19 viral test taken within three calendar days of travel.

Alternatively, you may provide documentation from a licensed medical provider of having recovered from COVID-19 in the 90 days preceding travel.

IMPORTANT INFO: Are you traveling to Peru from Brazil, India or South Africa? There may be some  restrictions in place, please see the last updates here before planning your trip.

  • Are you vaccinated? Congratulations! You do NOT have to self-quarantine after you arrive in the United States. However, you may still be required to present a molecular (within 72 hours) or antigen test (within 24 hours) with a negative result prior to boarding an incoming flight to Peru. See the last updated for travelers to Peru here.

Make sure to pack masks, hand sanitizer and sisinfectant wipes to use on the airplane and throughout your trip. And keep and eye on any possible symptoms of COVID! Rest assured our team will help you reschedule your trip if you need to self-quarantine before your trip. Learn more about our cancellation policy here.

During your trip

Although receiving the vaccine will reduce the risk of your trip, there is a minimal chance of contracting COVID during your vacations in Peru. Make sure to follow these tips to minimize the risk and help protect others:

Good hygiene

Some of the best ways to stop the spread of COVID-19 are literally in your hands.

  • Wash your hands constantly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds each time. You will find hand-washing stations throughout your trip, feel free to use them all the times you need.
  • If soap and water are not available, our staff will put to your disposal hand sanitizer. It's also a good idea to carry always with you alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing 60-80% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. And please, if you need to cough or sneeze, cover your mouth with the inside of your elbow or with a tissue. Everybody around you will thank you!
  • No-touch greetings are preferred in order to minimize exposure to COVID-19. Don't worry, handwaving is not offensive in Peru, and will protect our staff and their families!
  • Even if you are vaccinated, please use a mask over your nose and mouth. Keep in mind that some places (like malls and supermarkets) only allow entry if you are wearing two face masks and a face shield.
  • Social distancing is a great way to stop the spread of COVID-19. Please follow the recommendations of your guide and the local authorities on this regard.
