Welcome to Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire and one of the most iconic cities in the world. We will be waiting for your arrival at the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport and then transfer you to your hotel in the city of Cusco.
After an early breakfast at your hotel in Cusco, a Gotoperu local expert will pick you up to start your Sacred Valley tour. The first stop will be the City of Pisac, a small town with exquisite architecture that is the perfect place to buy authentic Andean souvenirs, known as artesanias. As you browse through the selection of traditional clothing and handicrafts, you'll easily understand why the Pisac market has a reputation of its own. Then, we will head to one exclusive restaurant in the Andean city of Urubamba to enjoy a buffet lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit Ollantaytambo, which is an Inca site that began as a palace or fortress but was eventually used as the last Inca stronghold against the invading Spanish conquistadors. On the way back to Cusco, we will visit Chinchero before taking you to your hotel in Cusco.
Our local expert will pick you up from your hotel to escort you to Cusco Train Station and start your luxury trip to Machu Picchu on the Hiram Bingham luxury train. Upon arrival at Machu Picchu town, known as Aguas Calientes, we will assist you and take you to the bus station for a 30-minute bus ride to the luxury Sanctuary Lodge, next to the Citadel of Machu Picchu, where you will spend the night.
¡The main day of your trip! Be ready to visit Machu Picchu with an exclusive guided citadel tour. During your tour, you will be able to visit historical places located in the Citadel of Machu Picchu, like the Sun Stone, Sun Temple, and the Room of the Three Windows. After your tour finishes, you will have some free time to explore Aguas Calientes, buy some local artesanias, and enjoy an amazing view of Machu Picchu town. In the afternoon, you will board the luxury Hiram Bingham train from Aguas Calientes to Cusco Train Station, where we will be ready to take you back to your hotel.
You will have the morning free to take a short walk and take some photos around the Historical Center of the city before your half-day city tour begins. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a guided City Tour of Cusco and the surrounding archaeological sites, such as Qorikancha temple – most known as the Temple of the Sun and Sacsayhuaman Fortress – a place that served for the Inti Raymi to take place. You will also visit Tambomachay which is located in the upper part of the beautiful city of Cusco.
On this day, you will enjoy a full-day tour of Palcoyo Mountain. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco early in the morning and drive through the South Valley to the trailhead at Cusipata. After a delicious breakfast, we will begin our walk, following a beautiful path that finishes with an amazing view of Palcoyo Mountain, known as Rainbow Mountain. At the top of Palcoyo Mountain, you can have a panoramic view of Ausangate Mountain when we return to the base to enjoy a picnic and catering of the best dishes of traditional Peruvian food.
We will escort you to the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport to take your flight back home.
