Overview

The Sky Lodge suites, located in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, are the perfect location to combine luxury and adventure in one place. At GOTOPERU, we have created an itinerary for our adventure travelers who wish to have a relaxing day with all the necessary luxuries and relax for a night in the Sacred Valley.

Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to cusco, peru

Welcome to Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire and one of the most iconic cities in the world. We will be waiting for your arrival at the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport and then transfer you to your hotel in the city of Cusco.

Day 2: Cusco walking tour

We pick you up at your hotel to start the tour ascending to the hills of Cusco, Christ Blanco, where you have a panoramic view of the city and the incredible landscape. On the way back to the city center, pass near the archaeological ruins of Sacsayhuaman, to walk back to the city of Cusco.

Our first destination is the artisan neighborhood of San Blas, a charming and lively neighborhood that is home to many artisans, workshops, and craft shops. Walk through its narrow, steep streets with old houses, built by the Spanish over important Inca foundations. Visit the church of San Blas and its famous pulpit, then we will stop at the famous Stone of Twelve Angles to take some photos.

We continue our journey to the Inca Museum, also known as the Archaeological Museum of Cusco, which contains traces that trace the history of Peru since pre-Inca civilizations and the Inca culture. After the tour at the Museum, we will continue our walk to the Plaza de Armas in the heart of the city.

Our last stop will be in the local market of San Pedro, which operates every day of the week with a variety of items sold, such as beautiful pastries, fresh juices, delicious cheeses, huge pieces of bread that are bigger than a head, tropical fruits and vegetables, herbs and spices, fresh coca leaves and also "strange" snakes in bottles, muzzles, animal heads, and soups served with a jaw in its products. You can take all the time you want to tour the many small stalls, which are inspired by the style of this very special place, and you can buy traditional souvenirs. After the tour finishes, you will enjoy lunch in a local restaurant.

Day 3: Bike tour in maras and moray

The bike tour starts around 07:30 a.m. with the pick-up from your hotel to go to the village of Chequerec near the Sacred Valley, where we will review the equipment and then start the tour starting with the bicycles, giving our first tour of the archaeological complex in Moray, an important center of agricultural experimentation in the Inca period. Then we go to Maras, where we will visit some of the 38 colonial gates on the site. We also visit some artisans and participate in the preparation of the chicha.

By averaging 01:00 p.m., we will have our box lunch in the middle of the beautiful landscape of the Vilcanota mountains, and then we will descend to the salt mines, where we will participate in the elaboration of the salt. We finish the excursion on the bridge of Tarabamba, approximately at 17:30 hours, before returning to the city of Cusco.

Day 4: Sky lodge adventure day 1

Full-day trip to the Sacred Valley with an overnight stay in one of the most amazing places in the world. You will spend the night suspended in a glass chamber in the middle of the Sacred Valley.

The experience begins around 08:00 a.m. when we pick you up from your hotel and start visiting the exhibition center of Andean Camelids, "Awanacancha," where you will see llamas, alpacas, vicunas, and guanacos. Besides, that variety is presented in woven alpaca wool shows where each family makes its entire textile manufacturing process. Then, we'll pass through the archaeological site of Pisac, located 45 minutes from Cusco. Pisac will give you an idea of the advanced knowledge that succeeded the Incas in architecture. As in other Inca constructions, some studies show that this was not an Incan fortress but a "real estate" property of Inca Pachacutec. Another good reason to visit is the artisan market in Pisac, where you can find some unique and authentic souvenirs.

At noon, we'll head to the town of Urubamba, where we will have a buffet lunch and enjoy delicious Peruvian cuisine.

At approximately 03:30 p.m., begin the safety briefing and delivery of equipment, and then climb the mountain by ZIP-LINE or VIA-FERRATA. After arriving at Sky Lodge Adventure Suites, we will welcome you with a mug of tea or coffee. Likewise, you will receive dinner service and breakfast in the morning. In Sky Lodge Adventures Suites, you could sleep in a completely transparent pendulous shelter, allowing you to enjoy the breathtaking views of this magical valley and nights adorned by the Milky Way.

After having enjoyed this experience at 10 in the morning of the same day, you will take the descent of the mountain the same way through ZIP-LINE or VIA-FERRATA. Finally, you will have dinner in the same chamber suspended in the air with a spectacular view of the Sacred Valley and the stars.

Day 5: Sky lodge adventure day 2 and overnight in aguas calientes

To descend the Sky Lodge, you can choose again between the zip-line or Via Ferrata. Then, we'll head to Ollantaytambo station to board the train to Machu Picchu town, worldwide known as Aguas Calientes, at the Ollantaytambo train station. Upon your arrival in Aguas Calientes, a representative of Gotoperu will be waiting for you at the Aguas Calientes train station to take you to your hotel.

Day 6: Visit to machu picchu and return to cusco

¡The main day of your trip! Be ready to visit the Citadel of Machu Picchu. Our representative will pick you up from your hotel to escort you to the Aguas Calientes Bus Station for a 30-minute bus ride to the Citadel of Machu Picchu, where you will have a private guided tour of the citadel. During your tour, you will be able to visit historical places located in the Citadel of Machu Picchu, like the Sun Stone, Sun Temple, and the Room of the Three Windows. After your tour finishes, you will have some free time to explore Aguas Calientes, buy some local artesanias, and enjoy an amazing view of Machu Picchu town. Late in the afternoon, you will board the train from Aguas Calientes Train Station to Ollantaytambo Train Station, where a vehicle will be ready to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 7: Full-day tour to the rainbow mountain

On this day, you will enjoy a full-day tour to The Rainbow Mountain. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco very early in the morning and start driving through the South Valley to the trailhead at Cusipata. After a delicious breakfast, we will begin our walk, following a beautiful path that finishes with an amazing view of Vinicunca Mountain, known as Rainbow Mountain. At the top of the Rainbow Mountain, you can have a Panoramic view of Ausangate mountain. When we come back to the base, we will travel to Cusipata to have lunch and then you will return to the City of Cusco.

Day 8: Departure from cusco

We will escort you to the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport to take your flight back home.
